Delta does not lie as much as I thought

Been  a good day, infact a great day. I am happy to say my flight was relatively ontime. Atleast the first one was my connecting flight however was late...and I dont know how to explain it but I think my pilot was speeding in the air. Seriously. The flight wa supposed to take 52 minutes, but because we left later 20 minutes later , I guess the pilot put some fie under his ass and we were there in 30 minutes. I was like what the hell! Now I was grateful but then I wonder....if they could arrive in places faster why not do it all the time.

Had a great evening filled with afternoon naps, favorite magazines and ridiculous action movies. I am switching between Pitch Black and the Punisher. Now I like Vin Diseal but I prefer him in action movies not in crap like that Babysitter movie he did a couple of yrs ago. What was that about. In Pitch Black u wanted to both kill him and ask for his protection at the same time. The man was a bad ass.

So far I am liking Chattanooga. Mainly cause of the houses, trees and it reminds me of Trinidad a bit, in terms of the scenery. When I see more of it I will tell you what else I like and dislike. Too early to give a judgement call. I cant stop smiling cause its been such a great day. Lots of pleasant surprises.

Anyway Janie I will have fun for you and me! Dont you worry.

Delta Lies!....in between packing and repacking

Okay on my way to Tennessse for the week. Very excited..has lots of plans ...interviews, apt viewings, getting to scope out the place and hopefully can schedule lots of sex inbetween.

I snuck in rose petals and massage oil in my suitcase. Lets see what a bit of imagination and Barry White can do for this girl...lol.

But I realise that the weather can sometimes taunt me....the first bit of snow blast that NY has had all winter season has to fall on the day before my travels...ofcourse! So today I spent the evening shovelling snow and checking Delta for updates. And I have concluded..Delta Lies!

I have checked my flight 4 times and each time it says "On Time". Now I believe thats a lie....first off JFK is experiencing more than 1hr and a half delays.... and outside looks like a white christmas.  So when Delta tells me...we are "On Time" ...I tend to look back @ my evidence and then back @ them and scuff!..."Yeah right".

So me..being the planner that I am,...who packs and repacks and unpacks to repack and pack again...I have decided to Pack my patience, leave earlier than expected and expect to catch up on some reading at the airport. I see myself spending alot of time on the tarmac next to an angry old man (I always get them)....who is mumbling about the plane taking long to take off.

So I decided I will be like ....the Dali Lama..however his name is spelt....and I will be poised, patient and unshakeable. Travelling always brings out the worst in people...and I have alot of hope for this trip and I intend to enjoy every moment of it.

Ofcourse people if I come back in here two days later and start cursing up a storm about my bullsh*t trip and A-hole people , you are not even allowed a snicker. Not even a snicker...just a sympathic nod of understanding and a virtual hug.

Anyway I am off to pack and repack again.....

"The Thought that counts"...bah humbug!

I have many guilty pleasures...many...cute shoes, General Hospital, smutty romances, honey nut cherrios with chocolate milk ,"Reno 911", etc.

And I indulge in them as much as I can. I have no self control...none.. and this is why sometimes I am not good at playing the waiting game. Infact I suck @ it. Especially when the other person doesnt know we are playing the game, which by the way is a terrible game..and u (the public) should never indulge. However as my father used to say...."do as I say and not as I do". I find myself playing that game.

The Hubby unfortunately doesnt know he is the other player...or does he? *my suspicious mind is racing*. So I know my husband...he thinks...."I miss and love my jane....maybe I'll tell her....call her in the middle of the day just to say hi"... 2 seconds later he falls asleep or that thoughts passes by without calling me or telling me..how much he loves or cares..or honey u r beautiful. But to him its the thought that counts, the thought that makes it special.

Well I hate that saying...the thought doesnt f*ing count! I cant take the "thought" to the bank. If someone hands me a sketch drawing of a present they were going to give me and says "Merry Christmas, its the thought that counts"...They would be shitting out the paper in a day or two..hopefully with the help of a laxative.

Now as much as I appreciate the thought....and respect it....I want action.

So I share this article with you all... I took the liberty of highlighting the parts I love (and also sent him)....he got the hint by the way....and less than 24 hours later I recieved a  "You are beautfiul and I love you" in the middle of the day. Sure I know technically it was "coerced" it still brought a smile to my face and made me think...Ah he does listen!

Mr. Dad: 52 ways to show her you care
Armin Brott

Every dad needs support, encouragement, information, confidence and tools to help him be as involved as he possibly can with his new family. Our fatherhood expert, Armin Brott, author of The Expectant Father: Facts, Tips, and Advice for Dads-to-Be and The New Father: A Dad's Guide to the First Year, has advice for your growing family!

Show her you care
Here are some ideas that will make you popular around the house and make your wife the envy of all of her friends; pregnant and otherwise:

1. Offer to give her back rubs and foot massages.

2. Suggest activities that might be harder to do when the baby comes, like going to movies or concerts.

3. Bring home roses for no reason at all.

4. Vacuum the house, even under the bed, without being asked.

5. Give your wife lots of hugs; research shows that the more she is hugged, the more she'll hug the baby after he comes.

6. Buy her a moisturizing bubble bath.

7. If you're traveling on business, arrange to have a friend take her to dinner.

8. Offer to pick up a pizza on your way home from work, and surprise her with a pint of her favorite frozen yogurt, too.

9. Offer to run errands. Better yet, do those before you are asked.

10. Do the laundry before it piles up.

11. Tell her you think she's going to be a great mother.

12. If she arrives home after you, have a candlelight dinner on the table, complete with sparkling cider.

13. Write her a love letter and send it to her in the mail.

14. Go away for a romantic weekend (together, of course).

15. Buy a toy or outfit for the baby, have it gift-wrapped, and let her unwrap it.

16. Buy her a pretty maternity dress.

17. Go on a long walk with her.

18. Learn baby CPR

19. Offer to give her a back rub -- again.

20. If you smoke, stop.

21. Tell her she's beautiful. Then tell her again a few hours later.

22. Pay extra attention to making sure she has enough to eat--pack some snacks for her before the two of you go out for an evening or for a hike.

23. Organize a surprise baby shower for her.

24. Keep a list of your favorite names or buy her an interesting name book.

25. Paint a picture for or write a letter to your unborn baby.

26. Set up some interviews with potential child-care people.

27. Tell her she looks good even if she's put on weight.

28. Buy her a Mother's Day gift -- even if it's November.

29. Go to her prenatal appointments.

30. Keep a journal, either written, tape-recorded, or videotaped of what you're thinking and feeling during the pregnancy.

31. Do something with her that she knows you absolutely hate to do

32. Take her to visit the nursery at your local hospital.

33. Help her address envelopes for the birth announcements.

34. Learn a few easy recipes.

35. Smile and nod agreeably when she says, "You have no idea what it's like to be pregnant."

36. If you already have children, take them to the park and let your partner have time alone to relax or run an errand she's had to put off.

37. Surprise her with breakfast in bed on a lazy Sunday. Or, on a workday, get up five minutes earlier and surprise her with a power shake.

38. Take the day off from work and hang around the house with her.

39. Give other expectant mothers seats on trains and buses.

40. Make a donation to a local children's hospital or school.

41. Discuss your fears with your partner. Listen to hers too, but don't make fun of them, no matter how insignificant they may seem to you.

42. Paint or wallpaper the baby's room.

43. Listen to her complain and don't tell her she's complaining.

44. Help put together the changing table and crib.

45. Install smoke detectors in your house.

46. Make a new will that includes your baby.

47. Join a health club together.

48. Clean out closets to make room for baby things.

49. Call her on the phone during the day -- just to tell her you love her.

50. Offer to carry her bags.

51. Buy a few tapes of her favorite music to listen to in the labor room.

52. Say "No" if she asks if she's acting crazy

Been a good day

Well its been a good day...as the title suggests. Although its about 5 days since my last entry...nothing much has happened.

I went shopping today...not intentionally....however I did needed one item. Which I am happy to report I bought @ 50% off the regular price....and I looked hot in it too (hint hint..its a "seduction piece"). Lets just say it involves thigh high boots and a smile.

What made the day even better was that I came home with a pair of boots I have been looking for for awhile. Maybe I should rephrase that....a wonderfully priced! pair of boots I have been looking for for a while.
Good news is I have stopped my procastination....or atleast I am fighting it off hard. I have actually started reviewing for my big nursing exam and have been doing practice tests. When you finally finished with school, laziness sets in. But I believe its well -deserved laziness. I have worked hard, shed tears, stayed up long nights studying ...okay ...cramming...havent killed anyone.. and I believe I should be rewarded for these things. It feels so good to sleep late, watch tv late, not have to watch the clock and read smutty novels all day. It feels great. So forgive me if I am not too thrilled about having to jump back into studying for this one exam (its the biggest one of my life)....but I am not eager to go back to the grind. I mean I have had "Senoritis" since my junior year in college....it feels good to say "I'm out B*tches!". This is long awaited temporary freedom.

Anyway I have done the studious thing for the night and I am feeling....naughty....dont know what I may do yet but hopefully it involves lots and lots of chocolate and sex.

My So Called Life...reminicing

"My So Called Life" always makes me happy. Its a 90s tv show series, that catapulated Clare Danes into stardom , (yes before Romeo and Juliet). I rememeber watching this way back when thinking...I loved Jordan Catalano as much as Angela did.

Anyway one of the characters Brian, the resident geek, finally finds someone who likes him. So the one who likes him touches his hand...and he thinks " Finally an erection from actual physical contact". I laughed so hard. Cause it was just a true represention of teenage lust and angst.

I remember being a teenager and my first H.S. boy friend. First kiss....we were friends for such a long time, but everyone else thought we were together, although we vehemently denied it....well technically we didnt deny it, our answers were "Mind your own business". In a way we didnt want to say "no" cause that would completely block out the possibilty of any future with us. But still we werent ready to admit attraction. Seems like one of those Mills and Blooms romances. Anyway I do miss the old days of making out for hours and where the simplest most innocent touches make you forget your name.

Oh the old days.

smiles*

How we love!

Today I finished the latest installment to one of my favorite book series. And it got me thinking, of the way men and women love. The name of the book is "The Darkness" by L.A. Banks and its about a vampire-huntress; basically paranomal romance. Anyway one my favorite scenes throughout the book is when one of the male characters is accused by his collegues/ brothers in arms of sparing someone's life that deserves to die, because this person was like a "brother" to him. They said "Everyone has an achilles heel". And the main character exclaims..."he is not my achilles heel, she is!  " and points to his wife.... "so dont question that I will do anything to compromise that".

What made me love this scene was because this is one of those big, tough mercenary guys who wasnt afraid to love so hard. This is a man prone to jealousy, venegence, crying fits and all these extreme emotional displays all in the name of this woman he loved. Yet he did it in such a masculine way u never questioned that in that same instance he wouldnt be compelled to snap ur neck like a twig. Carlos, the character, loves hard! And its one of the reasons I loved his character. He may be rough around the edges....but the man didnt play when it comes to the ones he loved.

And I wondered about the way women loved...or sometimes how I love. It made me reflect on another book I was reading where this woman, fiercely independent woman was told by a man, "even though we know u can do it urself, sometimes men like to be needed". And  I think sometimes I should show more vulnerablity and my fierce independence doesnt make men feel like I need them.  But truthfully I do need him. Sure I can live on my own, paint my own walls, install my own carpet...go up on the roof and fix a leak and all the crap. Been there...done it myself....but I need him. And in that way I sometimes want to feel like I am someone else Achilles Heel. Sure it seems selfish to want to be someone else Achilles Heel, but its very empowering.

I want to feel like I am loved so hard. Now I am sure u think this is about possessive type love. But no.....I had that crazy ex dominican boyfriend, back in the day...I dont need that no more. I mean the love that makes me feel more feminine and girly and protected all the time.

So do I need to be more vulnerable to be empowered? But how does one do this without asking or making it seem obvious.

Fake Work

Today I got dressed for work, left for work however stopped 4 blocks from work @ a book store...and ultimately never arrived @ work.

I spent the day reading books , drinking  over priced hot chocolate with peppermint and overall trying to keep the world at bay.

The world is a frustrating place, family can annoy and give you ulcers, friends can be undependable and lovers powerless. Its just the way the world is. Life sucks sometimes.

So that is why we sometimes have to fake going to work...

sad but true

Super Bowl Weekend---aka FREEDOM!

Okay Ladies,

Yesterday,  I decided to spice up myself. Had a "me day", now since I am on a strict budget (not self imposed I can assure you). I decided to tackle pampering myself....myself! Its been yrs since I have done my own nails, usually I run to the salon, give those people my hard earned money sit back and relax.

Well I started with my feet, and 1 hr later they were looking presentable enough to run barefooted in MACYS shoe department and not feel ashamed. However I must say after doing it myself, my back aches, hand hurts and sweat pored down my face, I decided next time I will tip alittle better @ the nail salon, they work hard. Then I tackled the nails, didnt take long and was good and pretty in no time and I multitasked by having a facial at the same time.

Now after almost 3 hrs of spurcing and prancing one would think I would decide to show off my "prettiness". But no I decided to watch some old James Dean move, "Rebel without a Cause" and curl up in my blanket. It felt so good.

No phone ringing, no one calling my name, no "Jane where is the...", none of that! I was left alone to my own devices , havent been in a while.

Even today, my only family obligation was to drop my dad off to a friend's house to watch the game. I didnt mind one bit since it meant he would be out the house. You know I realise that even though some men may not be into sports they will  go anyway just to get away from the womenfolk.  And I dont blame them. So I took this weekend for me.

Hope u ladies enjoy the weekend
